Guidance (under development)

Holiday home development affects many considerations at the same time. Choices made early in a planning or development process have an impact on nature, land use, resource consumption, local communities and future value creation.

Therefore, Recabin has compiled knowledge and practical advice in four thematic guides: Land use , Nature-based solutions , Resource use and Place development .

The guides are particularly aimed at small and medium-sized businesses in the construction, tourism and holiday home industries, as well as rural municipalities experiencing large-scale cottage development. The goal is to make it easier to understand key issues, see how different solutions can work in practice and get concrete advice that can be used in your own work.

Each tutorial is divided into three modules:

1. Understand the topic
Here you will get an introduction to what the topic is about, which concepts are important, and what questions the topic raises for holiday home development.

2. How the theme works in practice
Here you will find examples, pilots and cases that show how the topic can be understood and tested in specific situations.

3. How to work with the theme
Here you will find advice, criteria, strategies and recommendations that can be used in planning, development, construction, management and further work.

The guides are designed to be an easy introduction to complex topics. You can read them from start to finish, or click directly to the module that is most relevant to you.

If you want to delve deeper into the knowledge base, you can also read the professional reports that underlie the guides. The reports have been prepared by NINA, NTNU, Pir II, White Arkitekter, Mid Norway University and Kärnvirke Arkitektur, and provide more in-depth knowledge about the four themes.
